The land is a bearer of memory. It remembers harvests, children’s voices, and the footsteps of ancestors. But today, Ukrainian land carries another kind of memory as well – mines, which have turned fields into places of danger.
This installation allows the land to speak. Ten glass cylinders filled with real Ukrainian soil from various regions echo the stories of those clearing it and returning it to life: sappers, farmers, and displaced people.
Each cylinder embodies the voice and history of its particular region. Through them, we can hear the land of those parts of Ukraine most severely affected by the war.

The initiative is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine in partnership with the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine and the national platform Demine Ukraine, with financial support from the Community Recovery Fund of Ukraine.
The stories are artistic interpretations, created on the basis of real conversations and open-source data.
